{"id":1309,"date":"2025-10-09T17:02:15","date_gmt":"2025-10-09T08:02:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dronefund.vc\/en\/?p=1309"},"modified":"2025-11-14T14:08:15","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T05:08:15","slug":"land-sea-air-x-robotics-startup-pitch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dronefund.vc\/en\/land-sea-air-x-robotics-startup-pitch\/","title":{"rendered":"\u3010Event Report Vol.1\u3011Land, Sea, Air \u00d7 Robotics Startup Pitch"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p style=\"font-size:30px\"><strong>Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\">On August 28, 2025, we co-hosted the \u201cLand, Sea, Air \u00d7 Robotics DRONE FUND Portfolio Startup Pitch\u201d with Mori Building Co., Ltd. at the \u201cTokyo Venture Capital Hub\u201d (Azabudai Hills Garden Plaza B).<br>Attendees were mainly CVCs and business corporations, with over 40 participants in total.<br>Tokyo Venture Capital Hub: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azabudai-hills.com\/tokyo_vc_hub\/index.html\">https:\/\/www.azabudai-hills.com\/tokyo_vc_hub\/index.html<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:30px\"><strong>Purpose of the Event<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:24px\"><strong>Awareness of Challenges in Corporate\u2013Startup Collaboration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"font-size:18px\">In traditional pitch formats, the essence of technology and its applicable domains are not sufficiently conveyed, often stalling internal discussions.\u3000Particularly in deep tech and hardware sectors, the lead time from consideration to adoption is extremely long.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:24px\"><strong>Design Philosophy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"font-size:18px\">By providing \u201crecommendation comments\u201d for each presenting company, we clarified \u201cwhat to look for,\u201d reducing the cognitive load on attendees. Through GP follow-up, we translated technical explanations into a business context. Perspectives directly linked to decision-making\u2014such as implementation environments, KPIs, safety, and maintenance systems\u2014were shared during the event. As a result, networking took place <em>after<\/em> aligning on key discussion points, creating a space for meaningful dialogue beyond mere business card exchange.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:24px\"><strong>Intended Effects<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Shortening lead time to PoC:<\/strong> Established a common language at the initial touchpoint, reducing the number of back-and-forth cycles needed for requirements definition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Supporting internal consensus-building:<\/strong> Recommendation comments were aligned at a level of granularity that makes it easier for attendees to explain internally within their companies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:30px\"><strong>Presenting Companies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the title suggests, four robotics-related startups in land, sea, and air presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>CuboRex (Land):<\/strong> Development, manufacturing, and sales of crawler units and related solutions<br><a href=\"https:\/\/cuborex.com\/\">https:\/\/cuborex.com\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LOMBY (Land):<\/strong> Efficiency and labor-saving in last-mile delivery through autonomous delivery robots<br><a href=\"https:\/\/lomby.jp\/\">https:\/\/lomby.jp\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>FullDepth (Sea):<\/strong> Providing underwater inspection, data processing, and mapping technologies centered on underwater robotics<br><a href=\"https:\/\/fulldepth.co.jp\/\">https:\/\/fulldepth.co.jp\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>VFR (Air):<\/strong> A carve-out from VAIO, formerly Sony\u2019s PC brand. Focused on OEM and ODM businesses in robotics and drones<br><a href=\"https:\/\/vfr.co.jp\/\">https:\/\/vfr.co.jp\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:30px\"><strong>Features of This Event<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:24px\"><strong><strong>Pre-distributed \u201cRecommendation Comments\u201d<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Concise materials summarizing key points, expected use cases, and entry points for collaboration were distributed in advance. This increased the speed of understanding during pitches and raised the resolution of Q&amp;A discussions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:24px\"><strong><strong><strong>GP Follow-up Immediately After Each Pitch<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Immediately following each pitch, DRONE FUND\u2019s GPs supplemented with insights on technology, markets, and implementation perspectives.
